Punjab Planning Board term extended till 2012
Chandigarh, Jan 18 (UNI) The Punjab Government has extended the term of the Punjab State Planning Board for a period of five years, that is upto 2012.
The term which expired on April 12 last year has now been extended upto April 12, 2012, an official release here today stated.
The term of the Board Vice Chairman J S Bajaj has been extended from May 5, 2007 to May 4, 2012.
The term of four members has been been extended for two years with effect from May 19, 2007. These members are-- S P Oswal, Chairman of Vardman Industries, Dr G S Kalkat former Vice Chancellor (VC) of Punjab Agricultural University, Dr Manjit Singh Kang, the current VC of PAU and Dr R C Sobti, VC of Panjab University.
The term of two other members has also been extended for two years with effect from June 11, 2007. These two members are-- Dr P S Rana, former Chairman of HUDCO and Mr P P Chauhan, a retired IAS officer.
The term of another member, G S Tewatia has also been extended upto June 2009.
