Public requested to avoid Rajpath at morning for R-Day rehearsals
New Delhi, Jan 18 (UNI) In view of the Republic Day celebration rehearsals, the Delhi Traffic Police has imposed certain restrictions on movement of traffic on the Rajpath here till January 21, beginning tomorrow.
The restrictions on the Rajpath, where the main parade takes place on Republic Day, shall be in force between 0900 hrs to 1200 hrs, according to the Delhi Traffic Police.
''The general public has been advised to avoid taking Rafi Marg, Mansingh Road, 'C' Hexagon -- leading to the Rajpath -- during the rehearsal timings,'' said a DTP official.
Those willing to go towards south Delhi from north Delhi and from south Delhi to New Delhi should avoid roads which cross the Rajpath and instead take alternate routes.
Buses from South destined for Central Secretariat and Connaught Place shall be stopped at Vishwa Yuva Kendra, Tyagraj Marg and Krishna Menon Marg.
Those going to New Delhi Railway Station shall be routed via Sardar Patel Marg, Simon Bouliver Marg, Upper Ridge Road, Park Street and Mandir Marg.
Those buses from North side of Rajpath would be taking the Asoka Road, Dr Rajendra Prasad Road and 'C' Hexagon to proceed towards South, to avoid crossing Rajpath.
