Opposition to 'Sachcha Ramayana' necessary: Shankaracharya

Seoni, MP, Jan 18 (UNI) Dwarka and Jyotish Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati today strongly objected to the distribution of Periyar Ramaswamy's 'Sachchi Ramayana' in Uttar Pradesh.

Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, while addressing a religious meeting at 'Kumbhabhishek Mahotsav' here, said widespread protest to distribution of 'Sachcha Ramayana' in Uttar Pradesh was necessary or else it would be distributed in other states.

He said the 'Sachcha Ramayana' portrayed Lord Rama as evil and demon king Ravana as good besides providing several false information.
