National meet of jurists on January 19
New Delhi, Jan 18 (UNI) The All India Bar Association is organising a National conference on access to justice in Chennai on January 19.
According to a press release, the Prime Minister's Office expressed happiness to learn that All India Bar Association was going to organise a national conference on access to justice in Chennai on January 19. The release mentions the Prime Minister's stress on improving access to justice.
"The measures in this direction must take into account the problems faced by Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and minorities in getting access to justice," the release quoted the Prime Minister as saying.
Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan has alse expressed pleasure over the event. "It permeates the most fundmental values of our justice delivery system. It signifies accessibility, openness and a democratic means of securing justice for each and every citizen of the nation," the CJI said in the release.
"A result oriented value-based and people-centric justice system ensures that the doors of the courts are open even to the most downtrodden people," the release quotes the CJI as saying.
Stressing the need for improved access to justice, Minister of Law and Justice H R Bhardwaj called for giving voice to the voiceless and ensuring equal justice to the last man.
