Indian teacher from Pune commits suicide

Dubai, Jan 18 (UNI) Mary Madote, a 25-year-old Indian teacher of Our Own Indian School, Dubai, reportedly committed suicide in her apartment in Sharjah on Wednesday.

Her body was found hanging from a ceiling fan and a note in the apartment's storeroom said she was taking the extreme step on her own choice and that no one else was responsible, the police said.

She also expressed her apology to the police for the inconvenience caused to them.

Mary was a primary school teacher living alone at the accommodation provided by the school. Six of her flatmates, also teachers in the same school, had gone out for shopping in the evening when she took the extreme step.

The school, when contacted, refused to give much details saying the police were investigating the incident. ''We have informed her family which lives in Pune in India,'' a school official told the Khaleej Times daily.
