India to grant Rs 30 mln for museum in Nepal
Kathmandu, Jan 18 (UNI) India will grant Rs 30 million for the establishment of a cultural museum at Janakpur, Nepal.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in this regard by the Embassy with the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC), division office Dhanusa and Janaki Mandir Trust, a statement from the Indian Embassy said yesterday.
''Janaki Temple complex, the town's main attraction, will now have a cultural museum that will give a picture of cultural history by depicting Sita, Janak and Maithilii culture,'' the statement said, adding that it will also display antiques, paintings, arts and handicrafts in different galleries and will also house a library.
According to the MoU, a committee consisting of representatives from the division office of DUDBC and Janaki Mandir Trust will be constituted to ensure effective and timely implementation of the project.
