Gowda confident of forming govt in K'taka
Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka, Jan 18 (UNI) Former Prime Minister and JD(S) National President H D Deve Gowda today expressed confidence that his party would form a government on its own after the Assembly elections.
Talking to newspersons here, he said he had embarked on a state-wide tour to prepare a congenial atmosphere for his son H D Kumaraswamy to address election rallies.
''Some persons have created confusion in the minds of the people following party's withdrawal of support to the BJP,'' he said.
He said the work done by Mr Kumaraswamy during his tenure as Chief Minister was well appreciated by the people.
Stating that he would keep away from national politics till the Assembly elections were over, Mr Gowda said ''his first priority is to set things right in his house (state).'' On the third front, he said ''third front will be formed, but only after the general elections.'' When asked whether delimitation of constituencies would be taken up in the state before the Assembly elections, Mr Gowda said ''it is up to Election Commission to decide on it. However, my party is prepared to face the elections whether the delimitation takes place or not.'' UNI XR MSP LS RAI2130
