BSNL to give 3 lakh connections to MP
Bhopal, Jan 18 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Shakeel Ahmad today said the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd would provide three lakh mobile connections to Madhya Pradesh in 2008-09.
''More towers will be set up and other modern equipment used to make the network better. In the next two to three months, BSNL telephones will begin ringing in all the 52,000 villages of this state. Eighty faraway villages are yet to be linked by phone,'' he told reporters here.
The Minister claimed that only 24,000 of country's six lakh villages were sans telephones and those would be covered by this year's end.
