BJP will contest assembly polls independently: Gowda
Madikeri, Jan 18 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party will contest coming assembly elections independently without going for tie up with any other party, state unit president D V Sadanada Gowda said today.
"We will field BJP candidates in all the 224 assembly segments without seeking support from any other party. Like Mr L K Advani will be our Prime Ministerial caididate, former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will be the chief Ministerial candidate," he said.
Speaking to reports after a party workers meeting here, he said the party was in a best position to get a majority on its own.
On leader M P Prakash, who resigned from JD(S) recently, joing BJP, he said the party would not invite his group but they were welcome to join the party UNI XR RS TS2007
