Abducted child recovered after a week, found in a box

Jaipur, Jan 18 (UNI) The city police today recovered a jeweller's son who was abducted by unidentified kidnappers outside his Mahavir Nagar residence here on January 11 from a rented house near Karani Palace banquet hall on the Ajmer-Delhi Express Highway and arrested a person in this connection.

Addressing a press conference here, Additional Director General of Police A K Jain (Crime) said Mihir Jain was recovered from an aluminum box kept in the house in an abandoned condition.

The boy was administered sedation during the past eight days in captivity. He was found in the same uniform.

The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore Mr Jain said, adding that the police have arrested one of the kidnappers Raj Kishore Singh while the other two, Virendra Singh and Sagar Singh still at large.

Mr Jain said due to the heightened police offensive the kidnappers left the boy behind and fled from the house. The neighbours informed the police about presence of the child and a police party immediately raided the hosue and recovered him.

The police also recovered the car used for abduction.

Mihir Jain, sixth standard student of local Neerja Modi School was abducted by car-borne unidentified kidnappers from outside his Mahavir Nagar residence while returning from school on January 11.
