Gujarat involved in bird rescue efforts

Ahmedabad, Gujarat,Jan 12, 2008 : First aid centers for birds have been set up across India's western state of Gujarat.

These first aid centers come in as a respite to injured birds which sustain injuries during the traditional kite festival. The Gujarat government along with several local NGOs and bird lovers has taken the initiative to curb this menace. More than ten voluntary organizations and 1000 people are involved in rescuing birds.
