Religious meet vandalised in Ch'garh

Durg (Chhattisgarh), Jan 17: Police have arrested one person in connection with the attack on a Christian religious meet yesterday near village Bhotli in Gurur development block in this district of Chhattisgarh.

Superintendent of Police Dipanshu Kabra said one person had been detained in connection with the incident while investigation was in progress.

A group of people had ransacked the religious congregation last evening, alleging that it was being organized to encourage conversion to Christianity. They had also set ablaze the 'pandal' and assaulted the participants.

Few days ago, a similar incident occurred at village Tarri in the same development block when a group of people had assaulted few people for attending a Christian meet.
