PM should clarify stand on religion-based reservations: BJP
New Delhi, Jan 17 (UNI) Expressing concern over Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil favouring religion-based reservations, BJP today asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to clarify the government's stand on the issue.
The BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said the Constitution did not allow such reservations but contradictory statements coming from important functionaries create doubts. The Prime Minister should clarify the matter.
The BJP was totally against the religion-based reservations, which was rightly disallowed by the Constitution and several court orders, he added UNI MCN SG RS2235
