Oracle, HP to deliver business solutions

Bangalore, Jan 17 (UNI) Oracle and HP today announced a team-up to deliver complete software, hardware and services solutions tailored for midsize companies in India.

These new offerings comprise combinations of Oracle Accelerate Solutions, that offers cost, time and risk advantages to the medium businesses on Oracle E-business Suite and J D Edwards suite of products and HP reference configurations and were designed to offer easy-to-own solutions.

Talking to newspersons here today, HP Director for Commercial Accounts Ashok Pamidi said the HP reference configurations for oracle were guidelines for HP servers, storage and software that were based on joining HP and Oracle engineering expertise and best practices.

Starting from Rs 30 lakh, the end to end solutions offered by the two companies could support midsized company user counts of 25, 50, 100 or 200, could save customers valuable configuration time and provide guidance when deploying Oracle on HP hardware, he said.

''We are delivering cost-effective, low-risk solutions that enable growing businesses in India to achieve a tangible return on their IT investments. This combination gives flexibility, scalability and a range of options that offer continuity, security and efficiency at a lower cost, Mr Pamidi added.

The two companies had launched a 18-city tour of customer-focussed events.

Oracle Director and General Manager (Application sales) Nitin Paranjape said ''in order to midsize businesses in India to be competitive in today's global marketplace, they need to be enabled with affordable, easy-to-own IT solutions that are as powerful and secure as enterprise systems.'' He said with the hardware from a platform industry leader like HP and worldclass applications from Oracle, customers could address their entire spectrum of IT challenges in a single instance and within budget.
