One-third consumers found involved in power theft
Bhopal, Jan 17 (UNI) About one-third of the electricity consumers inspected in Bhopal and Gwalior regions of the Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board were found involved in power theft or other irregularities, official sources said today.
Of the total 1,39,093 consumers covered under inspection till December last year, 45,244 were found to be indulging in illegal use or other irregularities. The erring consumers were billed Rs 33 crore and Rs 12.82 crore already recovered from them.
The inspected consumers include 1,05,229 in Bhopal region and 33,864 in Gwalior region, a spokesman of Central Region Discom said.
