Income tax dept raids doctors residence

Mumbai, Jan 17 (UNI) Income Tax department today conducted raids at residence and offices of the eight doctors and one bookie allegedly in connection with the tax evasion.

Describing it to be a part of the department's attempt to take action against the defaulters, especially professionals, a senior Income Tax official said,'' While the search is being conducted at residence of the eight doctors and a bookie, the survey is being carried out at the offices.'' The search operation which began in the morning is still underway, the official added.
