Executive committee approves Amruta scheme
Bangalore, Jan 17 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today said that the executive committee has approved the Amruta scheme for the economically distressed women in the State.
Mr Thakur, after the committee meeting, told reporters here today that it had issued guidelines for the scheme.
Under the scheme, Karnataka Milk Federation would provide cows or buffaloes at subsidised rates to women from various categories.
The scheme was part of the last Budget presented by the JD(S)-BJP coalition Government.
The Government had already identified 26,000 beneficiaries of the scheme and it included SCs, STs and sex workers in the State, he said.
