CM, Maken making conflicting statements on regularisation: Goel
New Delhi, Jan 17 (UNI) Slamming Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Union Minister of state for Urban Development Minister Ajay Maken for making conflicting statements of unauthorised colonies, BJP National Secretary Vijay Goel today demanded an inquiry committee to resolve the matter.
Mr Goel, who met Lt Governor Tejinder Khanna in this connection, charged the CM and Minister with playing with the future of 15 lakh residents of these 1600 colonies, and urged they be regularised on the pattern of 500 colonies in 1977. He asked Mr Khanna to constitute a high-power Enquiry Committee to probe the matter.
''If the Centre's version is correct, the Delhi government should not have asked the various Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to spend lakhs on lay-out plans and service plans. But the CM claims she also released guidelines as provided by the Centre,'' a statement by the former Union Minister said.
Mr Goel also raised the issue of erratic electric supply and lack of potable water in various areas of the capital with the Lt Governor.
