Uttar Pradesh: 11get lifer for murder

Gorakhpur, Jan 17: A local court awarded life imprisonment to 11 people in connection with a murder case here. According to the prosecution, on April 4, 2004, Ram Vriksha Yadav along with Harendra Yadav, Babulal, Rajnath, Ram Chabila, Chandra Shekhar, Jitendra and Dharmendra had shot dead Venkateshwar of village Lavarakshi in Deoria district.

The accused had also beaten the victim's aides black and blue.

On the basis of circumstantial evidence and testimony, Additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court (FTC), Judge Abhimanyu convicted the accused on jan 16, besides slapping a penalty of Rs 5,500 each.

In an unrealted case, FTC Judge Ajay Kumar Srivastava awarded 10-years rigorous imprisonment to Babloo of Gulharia area in a loot and attempt to murder case.
