Zac Efron has his appendix removed

Washington, Jan 16: High school musical star Zac Efron underwent an emergency appendix surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.

Efron's rep confirmed the surgery and said that the actor was recovering.

"He had his appendix removed and is recuperating," E! News quoted the rep as saying.

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old star has been signed in to act in sequel HSM3.

According to the People, Efron is currently shooting for the feature Seventeen co-starring actor Matthew Perry.
