BHEL spends Rs. 3,200 crores on expansion

New Delhi, Jan 16, 2008 : According to industry sources, state-owned power equipment manufacturer Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has spent a sum of Rs 3200 crores for increasing its production capacity.

Under the expansion programme, BHEL has enhanced power generation equipment manufacturing capacity from 6,000 MW a year to 10,000 MW a year, which is further expected to rise to 15,000 MW a year by the end of 2009.
