Three LTTE suspects, Indian associate held in Delhi
New Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) The Delhi Police today said they have arrested three suspected LTTE militants and their Tamil Nadu associate from a hotel in Pahar Ganj area of Central Delhi.
The Crime Branch made the arrests following a tip-off, a senior police official said.
''We suspect them of having links with the LTTE but till now it has not been established whether they belong to the Sri Lankan militant outfit,'' he said.
The three arrested have been identified as Francis Jansan (22), Jon Mary Agasthan (28) and Thisaveera Singham Ranjith (22), all residents of Sri Lanka.
''We have also sent a letter to the External Affairs Ministry to verify their antecedents,'' the official added.
Their associate has been identified as Mahalingam Ayyakannu from Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
All the four have been remanded in police custody and were being interrogated, the police official said.
A case under 14 Foreigner Act had been registered with the Pahar Ganj police station on January 12.
