Scorsese's Rolling Stones documentary to open Berlin Festival

Washington, Jan 16 : Martin Scorsese's much-anticipated Rolling Stones concert documentary 'Shine a Light' will open the 58th annual Berlin International Film Festival.

The long-awaited film will open on Feb. 7 with the director and band in attendance, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

The film features footage from Stones' two gigs at New York's Beacon Theatre in 2006.

The two concerts include guest performances from Jack White of the White Stripes, Christina Aguilera and blues legend Buddy Guy.

The film has been shot by Oscar-winning camera team, among them are Robert Richardson, John Toll and Andrew Lesnie.

Stones tour promoter Michael Cohl's Concert Promotions International and Steve Bing's Shangri-La Entertainment produced 'Shine a Light.'

Kinowelt, German indie distributor, will release the film in Germany.
