Rupee eases to end at 39,29/30 aginst USD
Mumbai, Jan 16 (UNI) Rupee today slightly eased against the US Dollar to end at 39.29/30, cheaper by about two paise from its previous close of 39.275/285 per dollar on a weak note in Indian equity market triggered by weak global cues.
The partially convertible Indian Rupee traded in a tight range band between 39.26 and 39.295 per dollar amid choppy trade in the inter-bank foreign exchange (Forex) market, dealers said.
The six-month forward premium closed slightly lower at 2.03 (2.06) per cent, while annualized premium ended at 1.67 (1.77) per cent.
Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of India today fixed the reference rate at Rs 39.27 per dollar. The reference rate was steady compared to yesterday's rate of Rs 39.27 per dollar.
The Indian unit ended firm at 58.04/05 (58.21/22) against the Euro, while it closed firm at 76.87/88 (77.09/10) per unit against the Pound Sterling. Against the Japanese Yen, the Rupee ended at 36.99/37.01 (36.35/36) per hundred units.
