Prof C N R Rao bags 'Laureate of Khwarizi' Award from Iran

Bangalore, Jan 16 (UNI) Renowned Scientist Prof C N R Rao has been awarded Laureate of Khwarizmi International Award by the Government of Iran.

According to a release here today, the award was in recognition of Prof Rao's dedication, excellence and sustained hard work in the field of research.

The award would be presented by the President of Iran during the first week of February 2008.

Prof Rao, who is also Honorary President of the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research here, has been elected as 'Distinguished Research Professor of Materials' by the University of Cambridge recently, the release added.
