Bihar: Police arrest notorious gangster

Sitamarhi, Jan 16: A notorious gangster, Bindu Rawat, was arrested from Singhrahia village under Mehsaul outpost in the district with a cache of firearms, police today said.

Police said acting on a tip off, a raid was conducted at a criminal hideout near Mehsaul late last night. When Rawat tried to flee he was arrested at Singhrahia village.

Police had also recovered a country made pistol, live cartridges, gelatine wire,cellphone and a stolen motorcycle from him.

The arrested gangster was being interrogated, they said.

Rawat was the main accused in at least 12 criminal cases lodged in different police stations of the district, they added.
