One arrested for demanding extortion from industrialist

Bettiah (Bihar), Jan 16 (UNI) Dreaded criminal Ashwani Kumar Yadav was arrested from Dudhamathiya village under Manjhaliya police station area of West Champaran district for demanding extortion from Tribhuvan Mishra, a Mumbai based industrialist.

According to police, Ashwani had demanded Rs 50 lakh as extortion from the industrialist during his Bihar visit, six months ago.An FIR was registered at Manjhauliya police station.

The police said that the property of the criminal, who was absconding since the incident, was also attached following the orders issued by the local court.

Mr Mishra who owns steel industry in Maharashtra, hailed from Shikarpur village under Majhauliya police station area of West Champaran district and had visited his native village to perform special puja.
