Jaya's exhorts partymen to bring back MGR's Golden Rule
Chennai, Jan 16 (UNI) Asserting the AIADMK alone had the sole right to protect the name and fame of its Founder and Former Chief Minister MGR, party supremo J Jayalalithaa exhorted partymen to take a pledge to usher in the ''Golden Rule'' of MGR in the state.
In an epistle to the party cadre on the eve of 91st birth anniversary of MGR, Ms Jayalalithaa said no other organisation or party had any right to claim the legacy of the Former Chief Minister.
Ms Jayalalithaa, who would be visiting MGR's Ramavaram Gardens Residence tomorrow after a gap of 20 years, indirectly took a dig at Actors-turned-politicos Vijayakanth and Saratkumar when she said new parties were mushrooming now.
''We should not be bothered about them. Let us, on this occasion, take a pledge to continously strive for the welfare of the people, as envisioned by MGR.
''Let us also strive to bring back MGR Rule and provide golden rule to the people of the state,'' she added.
Charging the DMK Regime with failure on various fronts, Ms Jayalalithaa said people were fed up with the functioning of the government and were yearning for a change.
''People
are
eagerly
awaiting
a
new
government
headed
by
the
AIADMK,''
she
claimed
and
appealed
to
the
partymen
to
work
towards
fulfilling
'this
expectation
of
the
people.'
