Immolation: MP Cong blames admin

Sagar, MP, Jan 16 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Subhash Yadav today demanded action against ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Veerendra Singh and the district administration after holding them responsible for the self-immolation incident of a palak shikshak sangh's dalit president.

Mr Shivprasad Ahirwar took the extreme step during Mr Singh's 'janata durbar', at the local collectorate premises on January 7, in connection with his demand for construction of a school building. Mr Ahirwar succumbed on January 13 at Bhopal's Hamidia Hospital.

''BJP rule witnessed 120 major incidents of atrocities against dalits and most of those occurred in Sagar and Gwalior divisions,'' said Mr Yadav who courted arrest along with hundreds of party workers.
