Girl drowns in amusement park lake
Chennai, Jan 16 (UNI) A jolly trip turned fatal for an 11-year-old girl when she drowned while boating in a make-shift lake at the Queensland amusement park situated near Poonamallee on the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway today.
Police sources said 15 people were enjoying a ride in a boat, when another boat hit it from the rear.
In the impact, the boat capsized and all the 15 people fell into the lake, which was about six to seven ft deep.
While Anusha (11), hailing from Medavakkam, drowned, others were rescued.
The dead body was taken to Kilpauk Medical College for post-mortem.
