Eleven killed in a truck-bus collision in Goa
Panaji, Jan 16 (UNI) Eleven tourists were killed and ten others seriously injured when a tempo traveller and a tanker laden with chemicals collided head-on at Mallpe under Pernim police station limits in north Goa this afternoon.
Most of the deaths occurred after the tanker exploded and burst into flames. The injured were rushed to different hospitals including the Goa Medical Hospital in the city.
Another dipper, which was involved in the incident, was also burnt in the explosion.
The State Legislative Assembly, which met after recess, was adjourned for the day on the request of the Chief Minister, who made a mention of the mishap in the House.
Later, the Chief Minister rushed to the spot along with the Panchayati Raj Minister and the Transport Minister, besides others.
