Tripura: EEICC for multiple visa for biz community

Chamber
of
Commerce
(EEICC)
has
demanded
extending
visa
facilities
to
northern
part
of
Tripura
to
facilitate
trade
bodies
of
northeastern
states.
EEICC Secretary Ramananda Bhattacharjee raised the issue yesterday before Mr Sudhakar Dalela, Councillor of Indian High Commission at Dhaka, who had been on a few hours' tour to Ragna Land Custom Station (LCS) in Dharmanagar along with high level business delegates of Bangladesh.
Besides, extension of visa facilities, EEICC officials had demanded introduction of multiple visa for the business community of both countries while seeking early completion of border roads in the area.
EEICC officials had also demanded trade liberalisation and withdrawal of non-tariff barriers between India and Bangladesh along with upgradation of LCS in Tripura, Meghalaya and South Asom.
The 15-member delegation included BDR officials, representatives of Bangladesh trade bodies and officials of Bangladesh civil administration besides, Mr Dalela, Mr Bhattacharjee added.
