Dalit organisation demands 15 pc share in Central Budget
Jalandhar, Jan 16 (UNI) Punjab State Dalit Action Committee has demanded an allocation of 15 per cent in the Union Budget for the betterment of Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes.
Dalit Action Committee chairman Lahori Ram Bali in a letter written to Union Finance Minister P Chidambram demanded that Centre should allot a share of 15 per cent of the Central Budget for the welfare of the Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes.
Every year a sum of nearly Rs 10,00 crore, alloted for the welfare of the SCs/STs, was being misused, he alleged, adding that this should not be repeated in future.
