Case on SC/ST Minister posted for govt instruction

Kochi, Jan 16 (UNI) A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court today posted a petition seeking the removal of State SC/ST Minister A K Balan for government instruction.

The Bench comprising Mr Justice J B Koshy and Ms Justice K Hema, posted the petition for further hearing on January 18.

The petition, filed by the SC/ST Federation, also sought direction to the Chief Minister to take steps to remove the Minister.

The High Court, however, orally directed the petitioner to delete the names of the Chief Minister and SC/ST Minister from the list of respondents.

The petitioner sought the appointment of a full-fledged minister to look after the SC/ST Department. Mr Balan's main portfolio was power.
