Air India Express receives 11th Boeing aircraft
New Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) Air India Express, the low cost subsidiary of Air India, today took delivery of its 11th Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which will shortly be inducted into its fleet.
With this, its fleet size will increase to 18, seven of which will be on lease, a company release said.
Various themes, depicting facets of traditional and contemporary India, have been used on the ten aircraft inducted so far.
The eleventh aircraft carries two famous landmarks of Eastern India on one side is the iconic Victoria Memorial of Kolkota, West Bengal, and on the other, the Konarak Sun Temple of Orissa.
With the new induction, Air India Express proposes to further increase its flight frequencies to 172 weekly flights.
At present, it operates 154 weekly flights between 13 Indian cities such as Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Delhi, Amritsar, Mangalore, Chennai, Nagpur, Kolkota, Jaipur and Lucknow and 12 foreign cities including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Singapore, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
