3 suspected LTTE militants arrested

New Delhi, Jan 16: Three suspected LTTE militants were arrested by the Delhi Police from a hotel in Pahar Ganj area in Central Delhi today.

The arrests were made following a tip-off by the Crime branch, a senior police official said. ''We suspect them to have links with the LTTE but till now, it has not been established whether they belong to the militant outfit,'' he said.The three arrested were identified as Francis Jansan (29), Jon Mary Agas Htan (22) and Thisaveera Singham Ranjith (28), all residents of Jaffna in Sri Lanka.''We have also sent a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs to verify their antecedents,'' the official added. A fourth person was also arrested named Ayya Kannu, an Indian national living in Chennai, who was accompanying them.

All the four have been remanded to police custody and were being interrogated, the police official added.
