Hyderabad , Jan 16 (UNI) Twelve people were killed and five others injured in four separate road accidents in Nalgonda, Guntur and East Godavari districts in Andhra Pradesh today.
Police said six people, including two children were killed and four others injured when a lorry in which they were travelling turned turtle near Kondagattur village in East Godavari district.
The lorry was proceeding from Keshavaram to Kadium when the mishap occured. All the deceased were belonged to Kadium village.
In Guntur district, four members of a family, including two children, were killed and one injured when their car collided head-on with a lorry near Rompicharla village. The car, proceeding from Tirupati to Nalgonda, collided with the lorry coming from the opposite direction. The victims hailed from Suryapet in Nalgonda district. A case had been registered.
In Nalgonda district, an American national was killed on the spot when the bus in which he was travelling, was hit by a lorry near Ketepalli. The deceased was identified as William John Lesly (27), hailed from Washington DC. In another accident, in the same district, a man was killed when a speeding lorry hit him while crossing road at Nakirekal town.
