Gang of notorious dacoits arrested at Mullickpur
Hooghly, Jan 15 (UNI) The police arrested a notorious gang comprising six dacoits and seized arms and ammunition from their possession at the Mullickpur area under Singur police station in this district late last night.
Chandannagar Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Kalyan Mukherjee said here today that two pistols, three rifles and six rounds of live cartridges were seized from their possession.
" The gang was operational in the Hooghly and South 24 Parganas districts of West Bengal since the past few years and was wanted in several cases of looting and dacoity," he added.
The SDPO said the Hooghly district police was conducting a joint investigation in the case along with the South 24 Parganas police.
