Konkan irrigation projects to be completed in 2 years

Mumbai, Jan 14 (UNI) Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said an amount of Rs 150 crore will be released soon to complete the pending 22 irrigation projects in the Konkan region of the state.

Revenue minister Narayan Rane was also present at the meeting when Mr Deshmukh issued neccessary directives to the authorities concerned.

Mr Rane had recently written to the chief minister expressing displeasure about the projects being heldup due to lack of funds.

The 22 projects are the ones, in which only about 25 per cent work is pending and Rs 150 crore will be spent on them in the next two years.
