Extortion case registered against scribe
Mumbai, Jan 14 (UNI) A 52-year-old scribe has been booked for allegedly demanding extortion money from a businessman at Dadar, here.
The accused Mangilal Joharsingh Rajpurohit, a journalist by profession, had allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from a businessman, Phoolchand Kundanmal Jain (40), for settling a threat case filed by Rajpurohit against Jain and his brother last year.
Rajpurohit had filed a complaint against the Jain brothers last year following which they were arrested.
Later, for settling the matter out of court, Rajpurohit had allegedly demanded Rs 50,000.
An extortion case was registered against Rajpurohit yesterday.
