Ex-MLA Shyam Kishore Mishra passes away
Lucknow, Jan 14 (UNI) Veteren freedom fighter and former Congress MLA Shyam Kishore Mishra here today died, following prolonged illness at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science (SGPGIMS).
He was 90.
Born in 1918 at village Gandhauli of Sitapur, the nonagenarian took part in the freedom struggle and was sent to jail several times.
He remained Congress MLA twice in 1969 and 1974 from Sitapur.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati condoled Mishra's death.
