Chill in air persists, mercury 8 degrees C

New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) Cold Northwesterly winds today continued to lend chill to the air in Delhi even as the mercury was recorded one degree above normal at 8 degree Celsius.

For the third consecutive day, cold winds lend chill to the air in the city. The minimum temperature was recorded at 8 Degree Celsius, one degree above normal.

Visibility levels remained normal with visibility of 1500 m being recorded in the morning.

The next couple of days could witness some abatement in the chill with the weathermen forecasting a rise in minimum temperature to 9 degree C tomorrow.

The Met office has forecast mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with the possibility of light mist in the morning.
