15 years RI for manufacturing spurious medicines
Thane, Jan 14 (UNI) Maharashtra Organised Crime Control Act (MOCCA) special Court here awarded 15 years of rigorous imprisonment to a person for manufacturing spurious medicines and slapped a fine of Rs 5.30 lakh on him.
Judge W K Sangle found Siddhu alias Siddharth Janme Jay, resident of Ulhasnagar, guilty of MOCCA, Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the IPC for manufacturing spurious medicines and selling them across the country under the brand names of renowned pharmaceutical companies.
However, three other accused, identified as Jayesh Mehta, Mukesh Joshi and Vikram Kapoor, were released due to lack of evidence.
