Renowned social activist Niru Chatterjee passes away
Jamshedpur, Jan 13 (UNI) Renowned socio-cultural activist of the steel city, Narendranath alias Niru Chatterjee died after protracted illness here last night.
He was 70.
His body was kept at 'Milanee' this morning where several people paid homage. The mortal remains of Chatterjee was cremated at Parvati Ghat today.
Son of Nirmal Chatterjee, renowned freedom fighter and founder of Bangalee organisation 'Milanee', Niru Chatterjee was also the secretary of the organisation.
Chatterjee was related to various social and cultural organisations for long and contributed enormously to give a cultural identity to the steel city.
Several organisations including 'Jharkhand Bangali Samity' condoled the demise of Chatterjee.
