Rahul Gandhi to visit Kerala next month

Kochi, Jan 13 (UNI) AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit Kerala next month to strengthen the agitations launched by the state Youth Congress wing against the alleged ''anti-people'' policies of the LDF government.

Talking to reporters here today after attending a special convention of the state unit of the Youth Congress, National Youth Congress President Ashok Tanvir said the dates and the itinerary of Mr Gandhi's visit were yet to be finalised.

Assuring all help from the Central unit for the programmes launched by the state Youth Congress, he praised the local unit for the good work.

Mr Tanvir said the agitations against the ''anti-people'' policies of the Kerala government would be intensified.

Various units of the Youth Congress would be reconstituted with special emphasis on inclusion of women, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

The membership drive of the organisation targeted five million new members, he said.
