Punjab BJP meeting on January 15

Phagwara, Jan 13 (UNI) A two day meeting of the working committee of the Punjab unit of BJP has been summoned at Chandigarh on January 15.

The meeting has been summoned by the state BJP President Prof Rajinder Bhandari. The party's incharge of Punjab, Balbir Punj will also attend the meeting.

Besides working committee members, district presidents and general secretaries, MLAs, MPs, ministers and former ministers have also been invited for the meeting.

A senior BJP official here today disclosed that the meeting would discuss the working relation of the party with its alliance partner the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). The meeting will also discuss and prepare a strategy for the forthcoming elections to municipal committees and the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).

BJP sources said that the meeting will also take up the issue of appointments the state government proposes to make to various Boards and Corporations. The BJPs demand for the Deputy Chief Ministers post is also likely to figurev in the meeting.
