Nepalese journalists condemn scribe's murder

Kathmandu, Jan 13 (UNI) Journalists in Nepal have condemned the murder of a scribe by the activists of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha, an armed group in Birgunj area of Terai last night.

Puskar Bahadur Shrestha, 56, of Adarshatole of Birgunj near Raxaul of India, was killed when the gang fired at him near his house, the Parsa District Police Office said.

Shrestha, who was critically hurt, died undergoing treatment in Birgunj-based Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, the doctors said.

The group is active in Terai and demanding greater autonomy for the region.
