Indian charged in Irish backpacker's rape
Sydney, Jan 13 (UNI) An Indian national, accused of raping an Irish woman in south Brisbane, will be produced in court tomorrow.
Police said the 19-year-old backpacker from Northern Ireland awoke about 0700 hrs yesterday to find the 26-year-old man sexually assaulting her.
The teenager was sharing her South Brisbane hostel room with 10 others when the alleged incident occurred, the AAP reported.
The Indian, charged with rape and indecent assault, will be produced in Brisbane Magistrates Court.
