Biharsharif, Jan 13 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced that the state government would provide ''health cards'' to all school students to ensure better medical facilities to them.
Addressing a function here to mark the 141st birth annivesary of veteran freedom fighter Sir Ganesh Dutt, Mr Kumar said, '' Good health is the greatest capital of human being and every effort would be made to provide better healthcare facilities to the citizens. '' All government hospitals, Primary Health Centres(PHCs) and Additional Primary Health Centres(APHCs) were being equipped with modern gadgets for pathological and other tests required for diagnosis of the diseases, he added.
''The NDA government is committed to ensuring all-round development of Bihar and would cooperate with the Centre in this endeavour, '' Mr Kumar said adding the allegations of some Union Ministers in this regard were ''baseless and frivolous''.
He made an oblique reference to charges levelled against the NDA government by Railway Minister Lalu Prasad about its ''indifferent'' approach towards acquisition of land for important railway projects in Bihar.
Mr Kumar said the state government had already allotted the required plots of land for railway projects in Harnaut, Daniyava and also at several other places but their pace of execution was ''tardy''.
''Process of acquisition of land for several other projects in Bihar is on and it would be handed over to Railways soon, '' Mr Kumar assured.
