Bishop Gladston new CSI Moderator

Visakhapatnam, Jan 13 (UNI) Bishop J W Gladston of Thiruvananthapuram has been elected Moderator of the Church of South India (CSI) at the ongoing session of the 31st CSI Synod here.

Talking to UNI, Bishop Gladston said Bishop Christopher Aswer (Madurai) was elected Deputy Moderator and Mr M Jayakumar of Bangalore and Mr Devasahayam of Warangal elected General Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Sixty-six members from South India were elected executive members.

Atleast 500 delegates, including foreign delegates, were participating in the Synod, which would conclude tomorrow.

The next Synod would be held in January, 2010.
